Banana Bread

Bake and prepare this nutritious snacks to your family and friends. It’s delicious and nutritious at the same time!

Ingredientsbanana bread

  • 4 ripe bananas
  • 1 cup (65g) almonds, roughly chopped
  • 2 tsp wheatgrass powder – click here to buy
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 1/2 cups (225g) plain flour
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup (110g) caster sugar
  • 1/3 cup (78ml) extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 egg

Instructions

  1. First is to sieve into a large bowl the wheatgrass powder, baking powder, flour, cinnamon, sugar and a pinch of salt.
  2. Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 180 degrees.
  3. Then combine in a separate bowl the oil, egg and vanilla extract and stir until creamy.
  4. Next is put the sliced banana into a blender and blend fully until smooth. Then you can add the rest of the mixture to the banana mix. Again, blend fully so that the mixture well combined fully.
  5. Pour slowly the mixture into a baking pan and cook for about 50 minutes. Allow it to cool before serving.

Apple Muffins

Start your day with a delicious muffins made of whole wheat and oats with apples. Try these recipe!

Ingredients

  • 1-3/4 cups (425 mL) plain 1% yogurt or plain 2% yogurt or kefir milk – click here to buy
  • 1-3/4 cups (425 mL) quick-cooking rolled oats
  • 2 eggsapple muffins
  • 1 cup (250 mL) shredded peeled apple
  • 1 tsp (5 mL) vanilla
  • 1/4 cup (60 mL) vegetable oil
  • 2 cups (500 mL) whole wheat flour
  • 3/4 cup (175 mL) packed brown sugar
  • 2 tsp (10 mL) cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp (2 mL) nutmeg
  • 4 tsp (18 mL) baking powder
  • 1 tsp (5 mL) baking soda
  • 3/4 cup (175 mL) raisins or dried cranberries
  • 1/2 tsp (2 mL) salt

Instructions

  1. The first thing to do is to combine in a bowl the oats and yogurt(kefir) and leave it for about 10 minutes. Then add in the apple, eggs, oil and vanilla .
  2. Combine in another bowl the sugar, flour, baking powder, cinnamon, baking soda, nutmeg and salt. Once they are combine pour the yogurt mixture over. Sprinkle it with raisins and stir.
  3. Next is to spoon the mixture into a paper lined muffin cups. Then bake it 375 degrees for 35 minutes or until the tops are golden brown. Allow the pan to cool before transferring the muffins.
