3 Months drinking of some healthy drink

I’ve tried drinking wheatgrass juice and kefir for the last 3 month. Wonder why? well, I got pretty stress in my work and forget to balance my private life and work. (Pretty common to us!) Because of it, I get sick and slowly getting fat.

After 1 year of being workaholic, sickness start to visit me.

  1. I got a low back pain, from sitting long hours of work.
  2. My body is getting deform from lack of exercise.
  3. I always feel tired and hardly get up in the morning.
  4. I got a little bit fatty liver.
  5. My skin sucks.
  6. ETC! ( dont want to mention anymore!)

So I visited my friend, she was a doctor an integrative medicine. She check me up telling me lots of things like if I still don’t change my life style, I’m gonna get this or that. It was pretty depressing to heard all of those and yet quite happy cause atleast I still not that sick base on the check up.

So one of the recommendation is every morning the 1st thing I should do is to drink my kefir, it my choice either water or milk kefir, then I should have a light exercise like walk or jog atleast 30-45 minutes before I take my meal.

In the evening, I should walk or jog again for 15-30 minutes after my dinner then drink a glass of wheatgrass juice before I go to sleep!

My doctor insist me do to this for atleast 3 months! A self discipline is a must, you can’t even imagine how hard to keep going. You need to ferment your own kefir to make it more cheaper and to make your own wheatgrass juice by using juicer.  By the way the exercise is for 5 times a week only!

I keep drinking those 2 drinks for day and night, I believe the effect is very very slow but surely I feeling it more right.

After drinking and walking for 2 weeks, I start getting up earlier again but still feel the tiredness sometimes but no choice but to follow the instruction.

Well in short after taking this therapy for 3 months total lost of fats 15 lbs not that much but atleast I could see my curve again in my stomach! Cheers!

PS – I might quit my job!

Chilled Cucumber and Avocado Soup

IngredientsChilled Cucumber and Avocado Soup

  • 11/2 cups kefir (plain whole milk, or yogurt, not Greek-style)
  • 1/2 cup sour cream (or creme fraiche)
  • 2 cucumbers (large, about 1 1/2 pounds, peeled, seeded, and chopped)
  • 1/2 avocado (medium, chopped)
  • 21/2 green onions (chopped)
  • 1 Serrano chile (chopped)
  • 2 tbsp chopped cilantro
  • 1/4 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/4 tsp dried oregano leaves, crushed
  • 1 lime
  • salt (to taste)

Garnish:

  • avocado (chopped)
  • chopped tomatoes
  • chopped cilantro
  • cheese (crumbled Cotija, can substitute feta)

Instructions

  1. Making this soup can only take minutes. Place in a blender all the ingredients and blend until fully smooth. You can refrigerate first or serve immediately. When serving this soup, garnished it with avocado, chopped tomato, cilantro, and crumbled Cotija cheese.

Cottage Cheese

This cottage cheese is made only with two ingredients. These recipe is quick and easy to prepare. Just follow simple steps!

Instructions

  1. Start by heating the milk into 60°C [140°F].
  2. Then gently stir the milk and slowly pour the kefir into the milk as a slow steady stream. (Remember not to stir it too fast or too long or else the curds will break apart).
  3. As you continue stirring the curds will separate –  they should be clear and not milky. But if they are milky, increase the heat and add more kefir. Still slowly stirring it for a while until the whey becomes clear.
  4. Remove the curds using with a strainer. Then place them on either on cheesecloth lined colander or mesh-type strainer.
  5. Allow the curds to drain for about 15 minutes tops and you have a fresh cottage cheese.

Tip: Refrigerate the kefir before making the cottage cheese.

Nutmeg Donut

These delicious donuts with a hint of nutmeg is made more healthy because of Kefir. Try these recipe, it’s easy to make just follow some simple steps.

IngredientsNutmeg Donuts

  • 3/4 cup kefir (low-fat buttermilk, (1%) or plain yogurt) – click here to buy
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground nutmeg
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter or coconut oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup honey or agave
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Berry Icing

  • 2 tablespoons of sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup frozen mixed berries

Instructions

  1. First step is to preheat the oven to 425°. Then lightly grease a doughnut pan.
  2. Next is to combine the in a large bowl the sugar, flour,  baking powder, nutmeg and salt then stir to combine.
  3. Combine in another bowl the kefir, honey, eggs, butter, and vanilla then use a whisk to stir. After that, pour the liquid mixture to the flour mixture and whisk until combined.
  4. Using the piping bag, fill the doughnut pans with the batter. Or you can use a spoon to put the batter into the doughnut pans.
  5. Afterwards, bake in the center of the oven for about 9 minutes until the bottom is golden. Allow it to cool then top it with the berry icing.
  6. For berry icing, cook over medium heat the berries with sugar and a couple tablespoons of water until  berries are turned to sauce. Then strain into a bowl to remove the seeds and  1 1/2 cups of powdered sugar and 1/2 tsp vanilla extract. Mix well.
